Submissions
The Jungle Journal is constantly looking for stories with themes touching on culture, environment, and personal stories.
Some examples include (but are not limited to) topics on cultural preservation, social justice, the climate crisis, human rights, indigenous activism and land protection, decolonization, identity, spirituality, ecology, and sustainable tourism.
We are interested in both global and local stories that will help create greater awareness. We take submissions in long essay format in addition to shorter written content. This content should help create conversations around current events, but also inspire readers to embody the change they wish to see in the world. Content can include: essays, interviews, research articles, short documentaries, photo articles and audio stories. We only consider previously unpublished works.
One thing that might serve as a guide on submitting is to reference content we have previously published.
We are looking for stories to feature in our:
Online content: We publish content regularly on our website. With our digital content we bring in stories from all over the world.
Print magazine: On an annual basis we create our print magazine featuring a different region of the world. This content is focused solely on the geographic region we are covering. The Jungle Journal Volume 4, scheduled for publication in the fall of 2023, will be covering West Balkans including Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania & Kosovo. And our Volume 5 which will feature North America is scheduled for the winter of 2023.
We look forward to receiving your stories and perspectives!
To apply, fill out the form below or email us directly to contact@itsthejunglejournal.com including a description of the content and why you think it would be interesting for The Jungle Journal to feature.
